Mike sez Saskachewannadome

yup that's right, I've hit the mighty sask! I'm sitting in a city called swiftcurrent and have been in sask for abooooout 2 days including this one. Let me tell you this, THE PRAIRIES AREN'T FLAT!!! But that is for another tale when i get to MANitoba Alberta was glorious! I think the best decision we made was to take the Icefields parkway and go through both banff and jasper national parks. The mountains were tall, snow tipped and all encompassing! Some said that it made you feel so small, but to me, it made me feel big, empowered. You feel so at home and one with nature there. To me, the mountains aren't bigger then me, cause i am the mountains. There were some scary signs that popped quite frequently reminding us that we were in BEAR COUNTRY. But of course we already knew all the little things to do to protect ourselves. i even have a can of bear spray. thats right, BEAR SPRAY!!! 4x the power of police mace!

Anyway.... Jasper was a great little city with some nice sites and all that but sadly it came in 4th place of coolness for the parks. As we traveled south we were able to hit some awesome lakes, some great waterfalls and see some amazing stone carving. The best of all being A GLACIER!! Yup, I walked on it! It was so cool (no pun wanted). Even took a little drink and the run off. The next spot was Lake Louise. Now that place was really beautiful. It really had everything you wanted. An over extravagent building, a cyan lake, forest hugging you and mountains tipped with snow and glacier. Just breath taking. And then we hit my two favourite cities so far. Banff and Canmore. Small, green and full of life. You just had to love them. We then made our way to Calgary. as we biked we were actually able to see the last mountain that we'd see in the rockies. It was kind of a weird moment. Happy cause we had come so far, sad that we would never see sights like that for the rest of the trip. It was a good ride to Calgary and we were able to spend 2 nights there in a house. Thanks Florin! We were actually able to see the last day of the Calgary Stampede!!! It was cool, but kinda like a country themed Toronto EX. AND THE TREWS PLAYED A FREE SHOW TOO!!!(just wish we coulda seen them... Guess i couldn't cause Jordan you weren't there)

But anyway, it was nice, good city. After that it started to get more Prairie like and we hit the dinosaur capital of Canada of Drumheller. Saw the worlds biggest dinosaur and walked through a museum of great evolutionary knowledge. More biking on rolling hills and I think I may have seen some Cariboo! OHYEAH!! I also stared a cow stampede... I looked at them and said "Ladies, lookin' gooooood!" and they started to run! It was awesome! Some small towners bought us drinks, we biked in insane heat and then we finally hit the border. Good times. GREAT TIMES! We are all getting closer together as a team now and it helping us every step of the way. Talk to all of you again in a few days once we hit the mighty TOBA!
